Are You Struggling With Your Faith?

Are You Struggling With Your Faith?

This morning as I began my meditation it occurred to me to start writing on this point.

Faith.

Do we really and truly believe in the risen Christ.

Or are we like the apostles locked up in the upper room and not believing the words that the women came to tell them.

It is Easter time and in this time above all – we celebrate and give praise and honor because our Faith teaches us that Christ is Risen.

But Faith goes beyond knowledge.

Faith is something rooted in the pits of our stomach.

I have been meditating on this fact for some time now.

Faith? We speak of The Faith when we refer to the Holy Catholic Church and its teachings.

But the faith that Jesus Christ is truly present in each Tabernacle

The faith that  Jesus Christ suffered, died, rose again and is now seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.

Do you realize that this faith is so profound, so real that most people subconsciously choose NOT to believe?

Let’s just think about it for a minute.

Faith moves  you to want to be close to the one you think of most.

If as Christians are minds and hearts are always set on Christ then we first and foremost believe that they can be set on Christ.

It then means that we mortals as we are believe that we can actually BE with Christ.

Christ gave us means for us to BE with Him always.

He is never too far away from us.

Right here where I live there are four Tabernacles within a 15 miles radius.

There are four Churches where Jesus rests in the Tabernacles of our churches.

This morning as I type these words my heart thinks of him waiting for me to come and adore.

It warms my heart to know that it is only now that Jesus waits on us.

But on Easter Sunday he came out to meet us.

He didn’t want us waiting.

And yet he waits for us.

Before Easter I remember contemplating a passage in the Gospel where Jesus instructs is his followers

Ask for anything in my name and it will be granted to you.

Is our faith that strong that we believe that if we ask anything – anything – in His name it will be granted?

We have to ask for an increase of Faith so that we truly believe that Jesus is there.

Jesus wants us to come and talk to him. He wants us to come say hello everyday if possible.

He wants us to bring many others to him.

St. Josemaria used to call the Tabernacle his Bethany, a quite and pleasant place where Christ resides.

Did  you walk into a Church on Good Friday and feel somewhat sad?

Not seeing the Sanctuary light on?

I know I was.

I waited with baited breath for Saturday night to come when he would be placed once more – Risen from the dead into the Tabernacle.

Do you realize that when that light is off Jesus is NOT in the Tabernacle?

Have you ever felt that emptiness in your stomach knowing that He isn’t there?

Every Good Friday that happens to me.

It is the Faith that we truly believe that Jesus is with us.

On Easter Sunday my two year old daughter ran around the house saying “Alleulia” as best she could.

It was truly a time to sing praises Alleulia! He is Risen. Christ is Risen indeed.
